Welcome to Up 'n Away
At Up 'n Away, we believe every child has the potential to rise and they deserve the support to do just that. Like a kite lifted by the wind, children thrive when given the right conditions: guidance, opportunity, and belief.
Our aim is to uplift disadvantaged children especially those held back by poverty, isolation, or personal challenges by giving them the tools to soar. Through inspiring after-school programmes, hands-on learning experiences, and a strong foundation of care, we nurture confidence, unlock resilience, and ignite ambition.
Every child deserves the chance to feel the wind beneath their wings. At Up 'n Away, we’re not just supporting children, we’re helping them rise, flourish, and fly toward brighter futures.
Some Children Struggle to Fly
Not every child starts with the same wind beneath their wings.
In Hackney, too many children, especially those from Black, Asian, and minority ethnic (BAME) backgrounds face poverty, limited opportunities, and social exclusion. These challenges clip their wings before they ever have the chance to soar.

Over 40% of children in Hackney live in poverty, far above the national average.
Many of the families we support experience food insecurity, overcrowded housing, and barriers to accessing safe, enriching out-of-school activities.
Children from BAME backgrounds are statistically more likely to experience disadvantage, yet are underrepresented in many mainstream youth services.
A growing number of children face emotional and mental health challenges, often without access to early support or safe spaces to express themselves and build resilience.
Helping Them Catch the Wind
